FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Answers before you get started.

What is a trademark and what can it protect?

A trademark can identify the source of goods or services and may include eligible names, logos, slogans or other brand identifiers. The appropriate protection depends on the mark, goods or services, jurisdiction and surrounding circumstances.

Should I search a trademark before filing?

A preliminary search can help identify potentially relevant existing marks before an application is prepared. Search results cannot guarantee approval, but they can provide useful information when evaluating a proposed filing.

Are government filing fees included in the package price?

No. Displayed trademark packages are Markifyx IP Solutions service fees unless expressly stated otherwise. Government, registry, attorney and other third-party fees are separate where applicable.

Do you guarantee trademark approval?

No. Trademark offices independently examine applications, and third parties may raise objections or oppositions. No legitimate filing service can control the final decision of the relevant trademark authority.

How long does trademark registration take?

Processing times vary considerably by jurisdiction, application and issues raised during examination. The preparation targets shown in our packages refer to our target for preparing and coordinating the filing after required information is received, not the government's registration timeline.

What does the Premium 24–48 hour target mean?

It refers to our priority target for preparation and filing coordination after all required information is received. It does not mean that a trademark will be examined, approved or registered within 24–48 hours.

Which countries and filing systems do you support?

Our current service scope includes matters involving the United States, United Kingdom and Canada, along with eligible international filing coordination through WIPO's Madrid System.

What is the WIPO Madrid System?

The Madrid System provides an international route through which eligible trademark owners can seek protection in multiple participating jurisdictions using a centralized international filing framework. Eligibility, fees and examination still depend on the relevant filing circumstances and designated countries.

Can one trademark application protect every product and service?

Not automatically. Trademark applications identify particular goods and services, generally organized into classes. The appropriate classes depend on how the mark is or will be used, and additional classes can involve additional government fees.

What happens if the trademark office raises an objection or refusal?

The next step depends on the reason raised by the examining authority. Where the matter falls within our supported scope, we can help coordinate the response process or applicable professional assistance. Additional work or fees may apply.

Is attorney assistance available?

Attorney filing assistance is available where applicable. Whether attorney involvement is required or appropriate depends on the jurisdiction, applicant and circumstances, and may be subject to separate professional arrangements.

Can you help after my trademark is registered?

Yes. Available services can include trademark monitoring, maintenance and renewal coordination, portfolio organization and supported ownership or assignment updates.

Do you provide copyright services as well?

Yes. We provide registration and documentation support for eligible copyright matters and creative assets. The appropriate service depends on the type of work and the requested jurisdiction or registration process.

Can you help transfer or assign ownership of a trademark?

We offer support for eligible trademark assignments and ownership-record updates. Requirements differ depending on the relevant office and circumstances of the transfer.

What information do I need to start a trademark matter?

Typically, we will need information about the proposed mark, owner or applicant, goods or services, intended jurisdiction and relevant use of the mark. Additional information may be required after the initial review.

Does submitting the consultation form create an attorney-client relationship?

No. Submitting a website inquiry or consultation request does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship. Any applicable professional representation must be separately confirmed.

Do you also build websites?

Yes. Website design and development is offered as a separate business service. Current packages include Starter, Business and eCommerce options, with custom requirements quoted separately where necessary.

How do I get started?

Use the consultation form and tell us what you want to protect, manage or build. We can review the initial information and identify the appropriate service path and next steps.
